Life lessons from the Godfather

After an hour or so, I was wheeled into my private room at the hospital. It’s one of the reasons why I donate so much to the hospital all the time; the security of having my own room and a door with a lock!! That and a California king bed; a small dresser and a mini fridge too!!
With Vince’s help, I got changed into a nightgown that was in one of my drawers in the room. As gracefully as I could, I got back into bed as carefully as I could so I wouldn’t bust a stitch. Vince popped in a DVD and The Godfather started playing. He got into bed with me so we could snuggle as we watched the movie.
“Why do you like the trilogy so much?” Vince asked me.
“It’s a life lesson….Family matters and comes first no matter what. You help others out like Don Vito did with Tom Hagen. A person is lucky if they’re born or adopted into an Italian family but those who aren’t Italian wish they were Italian. It’s a way of life. You eat, you drink, you get loud and talk over each other. You do anything for your family. Your family is your life!” I said.
“Ah, I see. Let me guess. You have two copies of the trilogy. One copy is signed by all the main characters and the other copy is unsigned; you watch the unsigned copy so you don’t mess with the signatures on the other one, right?” Vince asked.
“How did you guess?” I asked. “Guess you know me oh to well!”
After watching the Godfather Part 1, I fell asleep for the night. I was grateful that I had a private, unmarked room and that my husband was with me.

I've been sick

Sorry about my delay in posting in the past few days. I’ve been sick in the hospital since the afternoon of Valentine’s Day.
I had asked a friend to post to tell you of me being sick or even bouncing ideas off of me to post something on my behalf but obviously he didn’t.

Once I get discharged tomorrow, I should start working on another post. Darn walking pneumonia’s kicking my butt!!

Laughter is the best medicine.....I think?

Matt stitched me up and wheeled me down to the recovery area. We both saw Vince pacing.
“Babe, I’m back” I said.
“How are feeling? Are you ok?” Vince asked.
“A little sore but I’m fine. I told you there was nothing for you to worry about,” I replied.
“When can I take her home, Doc?” Vince asked.
“Normally, I’d send the patients home after a few hours but with Deppgrl, I’m gonna keep her overnight so we can keep an eye on her; just to make sure there’s no sepsis or any other issues” Matt said.
“Would it be alright if I had a cot in my wife’s room? There’s no way I’m leaving her alone. Nothing against you, Matt.” Vince said.
“You know it won't be a problem. Anything for the woman who saved the hospital," Matt said.
"Wait. Are you telling me that not only does my wife have a shit load of jobs, money and getting people jobs, she's saved this hospital?" Vince asked.
"More than once, actually!"
"How many times is more than once?"
"Continually. She paid a large sum to buy the hospital and then she pays 95% of the monthly bills so we can keep running."
"Babe, is there something that you're not telling me?" Vince asked me.
"Nope. You already know I'm worth trillions. Guess you forgot the conversation at my brother's restaurant, stranzo!" I said.
"Oh. Forgot about that!"
"Old geezer!" I said NOT quite under my breath.
"HEY! I heard that!!" Vince said.
"You were supposed to!" I said laughing so hard I almost busted a few stitches.
