There comes a moment when enough is enough. I’ve spent too long bending, waiting, and compromising—thinking that loyalty meant staying silent or accepting less than I deserve. But not anymore. I’m done playing small. I’m done sacrificing my peace for someone else’s excuses.
Friendship isn’t about scheduled times to talk nor silent
weekends. It’s about consistency, honesty, and mutual respect. Real friends
reach out because they want to and within "respectful" hours of the day (ie not past 9/10 pm and 8 am), not because they’re checking a box or avoiding
conflict. And I refuse to be someone’s secret, hidden away because of
insecurity or jealousy—especially when those reasons are used as an excuse to
keep me quiet and unseen.
So, I sent him a message. I explained that I’ve reached my limit—that I see where he stands. I told him I know he’s choosing his girlfriend over a friendship. I am no longer willing to be the backup plan, the secret, or the one who waits in the wings for crumbs of attention. I told him I’m tired of being the person who’s always there but never truly seen.
And enough is enough. I am reclaiming my worth. I am
choosing myself to put my needs and my happiness first. I’m not here
to be tolerated or kept in the shadows. I refuse to dim my light for anyone who
doesn’t see my value.
Walking away was not easy, but it was necessary. This isn’t
about anger; it’s about power. It’s about knowing that I deserve genuine, open,
honest connection—something I refuse to settle for anymore. I’m done waiting
for someone else’s insecurity to dictate my worth. I am a force, a queen, and I
am proud to choose myself—because I know my value, and I refuse to accept
anything less.
Ending this “friendship” is painful. It hurts to walk away
from someone I trusted, someone I cared about. But I know, when I go to bed
tonight, I will sleep peacefully. I will rest knowing I did what was right. I
am a valuable person—someone who deserves love, honesty, and respect. The right
people want to spend their time with me. I am not meant to be a secret, nor
someone to be kept hidden. I am enough—always have been, always will be.
